Description: A British soldier walks through a forest of long, hooked metal poles set in concrete, probably as a form of reinforcement. A barbed wire entanglement more than fifty metres deep. An RAMC man emerges from the entrance to a deep dugout - there is a second entrance nearby. A few British soldiers are digging on the surface, possibly reconstructing the defences. Another pan over belts of deep barbed wire with a light railway train making its way through them, showing the gaps between the successive belts.
